First example: Patient A had a automobile accident six days ago while driving to the bank. They were at an intersection turning left when the patient saw a truck in their rear view mirror getting closer when all of a sudden, the truck hit the rear left side of the patient's car. Immediately after the accident, Patient A did not feel any pain in their body despite it being a severe accident. They didn't feel any different and felt healthy so they continued working regularly. The patient reported the accident with the police but did not seek medical attention. However, when the patient went to sleep at night, they began to feel pain in their neck, shoulders, and back. They also suffered from headaches and body aches, so much that they could not even get out of bed. Patient A went to their primary care doctor and was prescribed pain medication. Even though it would reduce the pain for a little bit, the pain would eventually come back and more medication would need to be taken.
